Hi all. Thanks to all 22 of you today on Old Govan walk. It was a 15's celebration too as;

15k+ following on social media

£15k in donations now raised for the RNLI

and 15th walk (Calton) just about ready to roll.

We celebrated with a tray of doughnuts!

A lot of new walkers since my last post on why the RNLI is my chosen charity for talks/ walks £££

As some of you know, I support this charity, because of an ancestral connection.

On October 14th 1881,, a severe European windstorm struck SE Scotland, with the tragic loss of 189 drowned men, mostly from Eyemouth.

Today, it is still referred to as 'Black Friday ', with at least 6 of my ancestors involved in the village's losses. Burnmouth Cove, Newhaven and Coldingham Bay also suffered losses, with many memorials to be found.

My walks/ talks are always free, but a small donation is always both gratefully rec'd and passed on to our Scottish Lifeboat stations.

Thank you all, Kevin
